Homecoming is a tradition planned by the K-State Alumni Association in order to bring together students, alumni and friends of K-State! This year, Kappa Alpha Theta was paired with two partners, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) and Alpha of Clovia (Clovia - 4H House). K-State Homecoming consists of 13 events over seven days with everything from Pant the Chant to Wildcats Request Live to Paint the Ville. Our pairing received third place in the Paint the Ville and second place in Wildcats Request Live!
This year, the theme for K-State's Homecoming was Growing Up Purple! Theta's chosen theme was Willie Wildcat and the Purple Factory. All week, our members dressed up as Oompa Loompas and celebrated the fun and sweet story that is Willie Wonka!
This year, the theme for K-State's Greek Week was Survivor! Theta placed first overall along with the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon (Sig Ep) and Beta Sigma Psi (Beta Sig). Just like homecoming, greek week consists of many activities over 6 days! These included a penny war to raise money for Habit for Humanity, a social media challenge, Greeks Got Talents, and a bonfire! Our members rallied as a house and managed to pull off an incredible win!
Theta has two date parties each semester! In the beginning of the Fall semester, we grab our boots and our plaid to host our annual Barn Party! In the second semester, we get dressed up and hold our Spring Formal and our newest member class gets to choose the theme. These are social events where women in the house invite a date to come and enjoy a fun night in Manhattan!
Mom and Dad Weekends
Theta hosts two parent weekends, Mom’s Weekend in the Spring and Dad’s Weekend in the Fall. Mom’s Weekend consists of activities like a silent auction held at a local hotel, pottery painting at a studio, or having lunch in City Park! Dad’s Weekend is held in the fall and the events are centered around Wildcat football! We provide tailgate food at the house and then head to Bill Snyder Family Stadium to cheer on the ‘Cats.
